Manhattan-Elwood Quilting Group
On Saturdays - Bring a project that you wish to start or are working on to our locations listed below. We will be cutting/piecing/sewing from 9am - 4pm. Come for part of the day or the whole day, bring your lunch or we can order out.
May 2012 - Our Saturday session will be on the 12th - Manhattan Park Program Center (9am -4pm). Bring whatever projects you are working on and stay for part or all of the day. We will be having a pot lunch salad bar for lunch - bring your favorite salad and include the recipe please.
Tuesday, May 15 we will be at the Methodist Church (6:30 - 9pm) and Thursday, May 24 we will be meeting at the Library (6:30 -9pm).
Some have asked if we can get together during the Summer (are you surprised?) - we are looking at Mondays or Wednesdays - if you would like to meet what is your preference?
The Library's Family Fair is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 - we are planning on having our 2nd annual quilt display. Bob from Quilts for Kids will be attending to talk about the program and pick up our stack of quilts.
October 27 (Saturday) the Methodist Church Women's Group is hosting its annual Harvest Bazaar - since we meet at the Church we thought it would be a nice gesture to make some quick projects that can be sold to benefit the women's group. Put on your thinking caps!!
Tinley Park Convention Center - Quilt Show: I called and was told that the show is November 13 (3-11pm) but actually that is the time for set up so the website for the Sewing and Quilt Expo has it listed as November 15 - 17. (Link below). Our group expressed an interest in attending - more info as it becomes available.
April 2012 - no special break-out session this month - just worked on our projects.
March 2012 -break-out session will be t-shirt quilting. Bring the supplies listed on the project sheet. You will be preparing your t-shirts as quilting blocks. (t-shirt quilt instructions)
