Building Project Information

The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library District Board of Trustees has been conducting a long range planning process for more than five years to evaluate the Library District’s programs and services in specific relationship to its undersized building. Currently, the Library District serves an estimated 13,500 residents in the Villages of Manhattan and Elwood, as well as Manhattan and Jackson Townships, from its existing 6,000 square foot location in a residential neighborhood in the Village of Manhattan.

Since experiencing failure of the referendum in the February 2, 2010 Primary Election, the Library Board is re-evaluating its options for a bid in the November 2010 General Election.

Updates will be posted once decisions have been made.  It is expected that a decision will be reached by mid to late spring.  In the meantime, please click on the link below to take our Library Usage Survey to see how much of a value the library can be for your household budget.
