Donate a New Book

Come into the library to take a tag off of our donation tree to donate a new book to the library!  You can have a donation tag inserted in the book made out to whoever you would like.  Makes a great present to the library while honoring someone that you care about.

Used Book Policy

The Manhattan-Elwood Public Library welcomes donations of gently used books and audiovisual materials.  The library will review all material donated and determine whether it should be added to the collection, used in the ongoing Book Sale, or discarded.

We welcome the following items in GOOD condition:

  • Recent and popular fiction and non-fiction books
  • Art books and cookbooks
  • Music CDs
  • DVDs
  • Audio Books on CD
  • Paperbacks in like new condition

Due to our space limitations, we cannot take:

  • Extra issues or old runs of magazines
  • Textbooks
  • Reader's Digest Condensed Books
  • Dated books, particularly computer, medical books, and legal books
  • Water-damaged or mildewed books
  • Books with missing covers
  • Pamphlets
  • VHS Videos
  • Old encyclopedia sets
  • Cassette Tapes

Library Fundraiser

We are currently selling Smencils here at the library for a fundraiser!  They are only $1 and make great birthday, Valentine's, Easter or just anytime gifts!
